Oxygen therapy at home: what can an mHBOT cabin do, and when is renting worthwhile?
The greatest enemy of regeneration is that it takes time: travel, appointments, opening hours. Yet with oxygen therapy it is regularity that matters most - and that is much easier to keep up with your own cabin.
In this article we look at how the oxygen therapy in a home setting: what an mHBOT cabin can do, how much space it needs, and when it is better to rent than to buy.
The mHBOT cabins of Imagine Health were designed for home use. They can be bought, but can be rented as well, if you would like to try them out in your own everyday life first.
Oxygen therapy at home - regularly, at your own pace.
What is mHBOT, and how does it work?
mHBOT (mild hyperbaric oxygen therapy) is oxygen therapy at mild positive pressure. In the cabin the air pressure is slightly above the normal atmospheric value, while an oxygen generator delivers high-purity oxygen into the space. Together, the two make it possible for the body to take up more oxygen than under ordinary conditions.
In practice this means settling comfortably into a cylindrical, soft-shell cabin. You can see out through the transparent windows of the cabin, read or listen to music. A session typically lasts 60 minutes. Inflating and deflating take a few minutes, and the cabin can be stored folded when you are not using it.

Why oxygen?
Cells need oxygen to function. When less of it reaches them, many people experience this as tiredness, slower recovery or difficulty concentrating. That is why many people choose to use an mHBOT cabin as a complement: a higher oxygen level may support the natural functioning of the body and may contribute to better well-being.
The mHBOT cabins of Imagine Health work at mild, gentle pressure, so they can be used at home, on your own. Before starting to use one, however, it is worth consulting your treating doctor - especially in the case of a chronic illness, regular medication or a special state of health.
According to research, oxygen therapy at mild positive pressure may have an effect on the oxidative metabolism of cells, that is, on the functioning of the mitochondria - this is one explanation for what users experience in terms of energy levels.

What does home use give you?
With oxygen therapy it is regularity that counts. Being able to sit in the cabin several times a week or even daily means quite a different rhythm from a few sessions a month. That is exactly why many people choose to have their own device.
- No appointments and no travel - you use it when it suits you.
- Your own pace: an hour with a book, with music or simply in silence.
- A consistent routine that can be kept up over the longer term.
- Cabins designed for home use, with maintenance that requires no expertise.
Who is their own cabin for?
Mild oxygen therapy is used for many different purposes. Users have reported favourable experiences in the situations below - the effect may differ from person to person:
- For athletes, as a cool-down after training. This fits well with the cryotherapy and the trace therapy .
- In demanding periods, when there is little time for rest.
- During a recovery phase, as a complementary option.
- For maintaining general well-being and energy levels.
- For older people, as part of the daily routine.
- For skin care purposes, often with the red light therapy together.
According to a review study, hyperbaric oxygen therapy may support the oxygen supply of the tissues and may have an effect on oxidative processes.

Renting or buying?

- The same technology the Imagine Health Center works with too.
